    1. Check that your email account is authenticated (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
    2. Build your own email lists.
      Avoid lists purchased from “lead generation” suppliers. They are highly likely to include email “honeypots”. These are inactive email addresses set up as a tool to catch spammers, as they have never opted in to any legitimate email list.
    3. Include an unsubscribe link.
      Use a system that adds any unsubscribe emails to a deny list and avoids sending emails to such addresses.
    4. Be compliant with internet privacy laws
      The most onerous is GDPR, so if your database practices comply with this you should be covered for others like CCPA, CASL etc.
    5. Monitor your email metrics
      Check your spam complaints, open rates, click rates, delivery rates. You should also check these for individual email templates and use AB testing to compare variations and improve. With the right system, AB testing can be done with templates sent individually over time, rather than a test batch of say 100 sends.
    6. Send relevant content
      Personalise your emails. Use a workflow that allows you to do some rapid research on each prospect and then customise the opening paragraph of your email template (or AB template pair). If appropriate, use AI tools to speed and automate this process.
    7. Throttle the send frequency
      With a few clicks you can set up an email send to a list of hundreds of cold prospects. Make sure that your system doesn’t do that just because you asked it to! Ideally your system will space out each send to stay within certain parameters (so many seconds delay, max number per hour, per day).

    ProspectSafari is designed to help you do all of this without thinking about it;

    • For example you can easily set up an ongoing AB test by cloning an email template and making a few changes to the second one (typically to the subject line or opening paragraph). These two are now considered a test pair until you stop the test. Whenever you select to send either of these, ProspectSafari will send whichever has been sent less, thus maintaining a 50/50 split. Performance stats are measured automatically for all templates, so all you have to do is see which of these AB alternatives is performing best, then eliminate the worst. You can then add a new alternative to start a new test to continuously improve and maintain a variety in your sent emails.
    • Unsubscribe links are added by default (but you can change this). Similarly a send throttle is imposed by default (but you can modify the parameters or remove this).
    • 1-click tools to enable rapid prospect research are provided, with the website appearing instantly next to the contact data.
    • AI tools are constantly being added to automate and speed up the propsect research and email customisation.
