The "Developer tools" card on the "Integrations" page connects ProspectSafari to your own systems. Only admins see it. It has two parts: webhooks, which send changes to your system, and API keys, which let your system (or an AI assistant) work in ProspectSafari.
Webhooks: send changes to your system
- On the "Developer tools" card, under "Webhook", click + (hover "Add").
- In "Webhook setup" enter a "Name" and the "Url", and tick "Companies" and/or "Contacts". The URL must be a full public address starting with https://.
- Click "Save".
From then on ProspectSafari posts the companies and contacts that were created or changed to your URL as JSON, in batches of up to 100, shortly after the change. Timeline items are not sent yet: the box "Timeline items (coming soon)" is shown but cannot be ticked.
The list shows each webhook's "Name", "Signature" and "Url". Every call ProspectSafari makes to your URL carries the signature, so your system can tell the call is genuine; the pencil reopens the webhook with a button to copy it. The bin deletes the webhook, which stops the updates at once.
API keys: let your system work in ProspectSafari
- On the "Developer tools" card, under "Api keys", click +.
- In "New API Key" enter a "Name" and click "Generate".
- The popup shows the "API Key" and the "Secret", each with a copy button. Store the secret now: it is never shown again.
An API key acts as the team member who created it: it sees what they see and sends email only from their own mailboxes. The pencil renames a key; the bin deletes it, and it stops working at once. Admins see every key of the workspace.
With a key you can read and change prospects, contacts, deals and their checklists and qualification questions, log activities on the timeline, send or schedule emails and start sequences, and manage parts of the Sales Coach setup. The developer API cannot send SMS or calendar invitations: messages and meetings it logs are records only. Each key can make up to 300 requests a minute and send up to 100 emails an hour.
"Documentation" at the top right of the card opens the ProspectSafari API Documentation.
AI assistants
AI apps such as Claude that can connect to a remote MCP server can work in ProspectSafari with the same API key and secret. You enter the address and the key in the AI app; there is no setting for it on the Integrations page. The AI then acts as the key's owner: it can read your prospects, deals and timelines, update records, log activities and send emails (it asks for your yes before sending). It cannot delete records, send SMS or chat messages, send calendar invitations or find new prospects.
